Este estudo pretende contribuir para a identificação de indicadores psicopatológicos, como sintomas de ansiedade, depressão e stress que possam interferir na vinculação mãe/bebé estabelecida, durante o período pré e pós-natal. Assim, na presente investigação pretende-se avaliar a associação entre suporte social e a sintomatologia depressiva, ansiosa e stress, além da vinculação estabelecida entre mãe e bebé. Pretende-se, igualmente, comparar o grupo de mães grávidas com o outro grupo de pós-parto, relativamente à vinculação materna estabelecida. Participaram neste estudo 100 mulheres, das quais 50 se encontram no período gestacional, entre as 5 e 39 semanas e as restantes na fase do pós-parto, entre 1 e 12 meses. A faixa etária das mães está compreendida entre os 19 e os 42 anos (M=29,04; DP=5,145), relativamente ao estado civil, 78% da amostra é casada ou vive em união de facto. A avaliação das dimensões em análise foi efectuada através da administração dos seguintes instrumentos: Questionário de Dados Sócio-Demográficos e Clínicos, a Escala de Vinculação Pré-natal e Pós-natal, a Escala de Ansiedade, Depressão e Stress e a Escala de Satisfação com o Suporte Social. Os dados permitiram verificar que o suporte social está negativamente relacionado com a ansiedade, depressão e stress e positivamente relacionado com a vinculação materna. Também se constatou existir uma associação negativa entre ansiedade, depressão e stress, e a vinculação mãe-bebé. Observou-se, igualmente, que as gestantes apresentam maior vinculação materna, do que as mães que se encontram na fase do pós-parto. A partir desta investigação é possível verificar, que a presença de suporte social está relacionada com menores sintomas de ansiedade, depressão e stress, assim como maior vinculação materna. Foi igualmente constado que maiores sintomas de ansiedade, depressão e stress se associam a menor vinculação materna. Existe uma associação entre antecedentes de perturbação de depressão e o indicador de stress, por outro lado, a história prévia de ansiedade está relacionada com todos os indicadores psicopatológicos. Perante os resultados encontrados nesta investigação, é possível reflectir sobre os seus contributos para a comunidade e para a intervenção ao nível preventivo e terapêutico, contribuindo para a promoção do bem-estar da mãe e bebé. The present study aims to contribute to the association between social support and depressive symptoms, anxiety, stress and the linkage established between mother and baby during the pre and postnatal. Therefore, this study aims to assess the association between social support and depressive symptoms, anxiety and stress, besides the established link between mother and baby. It is also intended to compare the group of pregnant mothers with the other group of postpartum maternal bonding. 100 women participated in this study, 50 of which are pregnant, between 5 and 39 weeks and the remainder are in the postpartum phase, between 1 and 12 months. The age of the mothers is between 19 and 42 years (M = 29.04). In terms of the marital status, 78% of the women’s are married or living in union of fact. The evaluation of the dimensions in the analysis was carried out through the administration of the following instruments: Questionnaire of Socio-Demographic and Clinical data, Pre-natal and Post-natal care scale, the Scale of Anxiety, Depression and Stress and a Satisfaction with the Social Support scale. The data allowed us to verify that an increased social support could mean lower rates of anxiety, depression, stress and more maternal bonding. An association between major indicators of anxiety, depression, stress and reduced mother-baby bonding were also examined. It was also observed that pregnant women have a higher maternal bonding, than mothers who are at the stage of post-partum. Based on this research it is possible to verify, that the presence of social support is related minor symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress, as well as a higher maternal attachment. Was equally feature that higher symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress are associated with lower maternal attachment. There is an association between a history of depressive disorder and stress indicator and on the other hand, the history of anxiety is associated with all psychopathological indicators. Given the results found in this research, it is possible to reflect on their contributions to the community and intervention at the preventive and therapeutic levels, helping to promote the welfare of mother and baby.
