Description
As variáveis sóciodemográficas não mostraram serem factores determinantes do engagement no trabalho, apenas os grupos ocupacionais apresentaram alguma significância; ABSTRACT: In this study we searched to understand the relationship between two subjects of our professional life: the work engagement which is seen as positive state of mind, of filling, related with work, characterized by vigor, dedication and absorption; and personality which allows the managers to allocate better the company talents, translating in a bigger engagement of their human resources. This study was performed with 145 employees from different occupational groups. The results are concordant with the bibliographic revision made: the work engagement correlates negatively with neuroticism and, positively with other dimensions distinguishing the extroversion. However, the linear regression revealed that the personality is not a strong predictor of work engagement. The socio-demographic variables have not shown being determinating factors of work engagement, only the occupational groups have shown some significance.
