/ABSTRACT: During the summer of 2006 plankton samples were collected (surface and water column) in a radial perpendicular to Sines coast, Portugal, in 3 points (approximately at 300, 800 and 1100 meters from coast). Sampling was done during different tide regimes (neap and spring tides). The abundance and distribution of zooplankton were explored linked with the tide physical conditions, Water temperature and winds. The results showed a spatial and temporal variation of the zooplanktonic communities' structure at a small scale. Significant differences were found between surface and water column samples. It was observed that the zooplanktonic communities located nearer to the shore (station A) were different from the communities more distant from shore (station C) and the existence of influence of the tide regimes to the neustonic zooplanktonic communities.
