No presente documento é apresentado um estudo relativo ao uso e potencial das visitas virtuais suportadas pelas novas tecnologias e mediadas pela internet em contexto turístico. É feita uma análise inicial relativamente ao significado de turismo e efetuada uma reflexão sobre os vários tipos que existem, de forma a posteriormente introduzir o tema principal do estudo. Para tal aborda-se o turismo em Portugal, passando para uma análise focalizada na cidade do Porto. É feita uma comparação entre o turismo presencial e virtual abordando as suas vantagens e desvantagens. Analisa-se e contextualiza-se a definição das visitas virtuais, efetuando também uma descrição sobre o desenvolvimento deste tipo de soluções incidindo com maior detalhe no processo de captura das imagens. É estabelecida a linha de evolução da imersão no passado e no presente e descrevem-se os atuais programas que permitem a produção dos mesmos. Apresenta-se um estudo comparativo para definir qual deles deveria ser utilizado para o desenvolvimento do protótipo de apoio à presente investigação. Escolheu-se a cidade de Paris para identificar diferentes formas e mecanismos possíveis de a conhecer, via Web e à distância. Foram analisadas inúmeras visitas virtuais a outros locais e investigados outros tipos recursos multimédia com potencial para ajudar a divulgar uma região. No sentido de alicerçar o presente trabalho de investigação foi elaborado um protótipo tendo por base a cidade do Porto, não só pela sua proximidade mas também por ter sido considerado o melhor destino Europeu no presente ano. Explicam-se detalhadamente todas as etapas relacionadas com a sua criação até à fase de lançamento do mesmo. Posteriormente as visitas virtuais foram validadas através de questionários, dos quais são apresentados os resultados. Finalmente reúnem-se as conclusões do presente estudo através da análise dos resultados obtidos e apresenta-se uma reflexão sobre o trabalho futuro.
In the following document it is presented a study about the use of virtual tours supported by the new technologies and mediated by the internet on tourism. An initial analysis is made about the meaning of tourism and a reflection is made concerning the various types that exist to afterwards introduce the main theme of the study. It is given an example in general with Portugal and then with a particularly focus with the city of Porto. A comparison is made between in person and virtual tourism and also its advantages and disadvantages. It is given an analysis and context to the reader of the definition of virtual tours and also a description about the process of development in these types of solutions highlighting the process of capturing the images. It is established the evolution line of emersion on the past and present. The software that are used nowadays to make them are described. A comparative study is made between them to define which of them should be used for developing the prototype of this present investigation. The city of Paris was chosen to identify different forms and mechanisms possible to get to know her via Web and afar. Numerous virtual tours were analyzed of other locations and other types of multimedia resources were investigated with potential to help publicize a region To fortify the present work of investigation a prototype was developed taking as the model the city of Porto, not only because of its proximity but also for being considered the best European destination in this present year. It is explained in detail all the steps evolved since its creation until the launch phase. The Virtual tours where validated through pools, after this the results are presented. Finally the conclusion of the present study is made through the analysis of the results previously acquired and a reflection of the future work is presented.
