Enquadramento: O estudo das dimensões psicológicas associadas ao nível de Bonding do pai face ao recém-nascido tem vindo a desenvolver-se em torno de duas questões: o impacto da qualidade da relação conjugal na vinculação e a influência do estilo de vinculação do pai, no seu envolvimento afetivo com o filho. Para este estudo, interessou principalmente compreender a influência da satisfação conjugal percebida pelo pai, no estabelecimento do Bonding na relação com o bebé. Porém, foram delineados ainda mais três objetivos: descrever de que forma o tipo de Bonding é influenciado pelas variáveis sociodemográficas; determinar se as variáveis obstétricas influenciam o Bonding entre pai e filho e por fim, avaliar o impacto das variáveis de envolvimento na gravidez, trabalho de parto e parto no Bonding. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, do tipo descritivo-analítico e correlacional, no qual participaram 349 progenitores masculinos, com idade média de 31,84 anos e dp de 6,067. O protocolo de colheita de dados, aplicado até às 48 horas do pós parto, inclui informação que permite fazer a caracterização sociodemográfica, obstétrica, envolvimento do pai durante a gravidez, trabalho de parto e parto e ainda as escalas de Avaliação da Satisfação em Áreas da Vida Conjugal (Narciso e Costa, 1996) e da Escala de Bonding (Figueiredo [et al.], 2005). Resultados: Verificou-se que existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre: Bonding Positivo e idade (p=0,010), habilitações literárias (p=0,045); Bonding Positivo e Bonding Not Clear com o ser ou não o primeiro filho (p=0,027; p=0,043); Bonding Positivo e comunicar com o feto (p=0,005); entre a presença no trabalho de parto e o Bonding Not Clear (p=0,045). Apurou-se correlações positivas e significativas em algumas subescalas da satisfação conjugal e os tipos de Bonding. Confirmou-se também que a idade, a duração do relacionamento, as habilitações literárias, ser ou não o primeiro filho, tipo de parto, presença nas consultas de vigilância pré-natal, percecionar os movimentos fetais ativos, comunicar com o feto foram variáveis que interferiram na satisfação conjugal. Conclusões: Os resultados obtidos sugerem que a satisfação conjugal influencia o estabelecimento do Bonding na relação precoce pai/bebé. ABSTRACT Introduction: The study of the psychological dimensions associated with the level of Bonding father's face to the newborn has developed around two issues: the impact of the quality of the marital relationship in the connection and the influence of attachment style of the father in his emotional involvement with the child. For this study, mainly interested in understanding the influence of marital satisfaction perceived by the father in the establishment of the Bonding in the relationship with the baby. However, even more were outlined three goals: to describe how the type of Bonding is influenced by sociodemographic variables, obstetric variables determine whether the influence Bonding between parent and child, and finally, assess the impact of variables involved in pregnancy, labor and delivery in Bonding. Methods: This is a quantitative, descriptive-analytic and correlational, attended by 349 male parents, with a mean age of 31.84 years and standard deviation of 6.067. The protocol for data collection, applied up to 48 hours post partum, includes information that allows the sociodemographic, obstetric, father involvement during pregnancy, labor and delivery and even the scales of Satisfaction Evaluation in Areas of Married Life (Narcissus and Costa, 1996) and Bonding Scale (Figueiredo [et al.], 2005). Results: It was found that there are significant differences between: Positive Bonding and age (p = 0.010), degree of education (p = 0.045); Positive Bonding, Bonding Not Clear with being the first child or not (p = 0.027, p = 0.043); Positive Bonding and communicate with the fetus (p = 0.005) between the presence in the labor and Bonding Not Clear (p = 0.045). It was found significant positive correlations in some subscales of marital satisfaction and the types of Bonding. It also confirmed that age, duration of relationship, qualifications, or may not be the first child, type of delivery, presence in clinical monitoring prenatal, feel fetus movements, communicate with the fetus were found that interfered in the marital satisfaction. Conclusions: The results suggest that marital satisfaction influences the establishment of the Bonding in the early relationship parent / child.
