A presente dissertação pretende ser um contributo para o conhecimento da Valorização do Património Arqueológico em Portugal, através de uma análise individual aos sítios arqueológicos romanos da região portuguesa do Alentejo, complementado por uma revisão conceptual. Ao empregar uma metodologia assente na observação directa e na realização de questionários extensos aos responsáveis pela gestão de cada sítio arqueológico, foi não só possível perceber como se entende e promove a sua valorização, mas também quais os aspectos em que esta pode melhorar. Incidindo este trabalho especificamente sobre uma região de Portugal e um período histórico particular, a metodologia aplicada possibilita, no futuro, ampliá-lo e completá-lo de modo a obter o panorama geral da Valorização do Património Arqueológico em Portugal
The following dissertation seeks to contribute to a wider knowledge on Archaeological Heritage Valorisation in Portugal, through an individual analysis of roman archaeological sites in Alentejo, South of Portugal, supported by an underlying theoretical frame. The methodological approach consisted on a direct observation strategy and a thorough survey applied to each site manager. With this method it was possible to understand not only the current valorisation strategies of each archaeological site, but also to identify avenues for future developments. Although this work focuses on a particular region and historic period, its methodological framework enables further developments and broaden the scope in order to cover the whole scenario of the Archaeological Heritage Valorisation in Portugal.
