No presente estudo, e numa perspectiva de prevenção, analisa-se o problema do abandono escolar precoce, identificando e recolhendo factores de risco a ele associados. Estuda-se e caracteriza-se a situação de Portugal face ao problema, enumerando estratégias de intervenção e prevenção criadas. Tendo em atenção o objectivo do estudo, construção de um instrumento de diagnóstico de crianças e jovens em risco de abandono escolar, elaborou-se a partir da literatura um questionário de avaliação e gestão do risco de abandono escolar que foi aplicado a uma amostra de 102 professores do Ensino Básico (1º, 2º e 3º ciclos), com o intuito de identificar os principais factores de risco atribuídos pelos professores. Feito o tratamento de dados identificaram-se os indicadores que em média os participantes atribuem maior importância: relações parentais negligentes ou abusivas, absentismo escolar, falta de interesse, o fraco investimento na vida escolar e a vida familiar disfuncional. Feita a análise factorial foram identificadas quatro grandes categorias: escolar e social; familiar e cultural; serviços de apoio; e individual, à semelhança das apontadas pela literatura. Deste procedimento resultou a proposta final do instrumento de diagnostico de risco de abandono escolar.
In the present study, and in a preventive perspective, the analysis of earlier drop out problem, identifying and collecting risk factors associated to it. Studies describe Portugal’s situation in this problem, enumerating intervention and prevention strategies created. Being in attention the objective of the study, the construction of an instrument that diagnosis children and youth in risk of drop out, it has been elaborated from the literature, an evaluation and management of the drop out risk, questionnaire and it was applied to an hundred and two teachers from the basic education (first, second and third cycle) with the objective of identifying the main factors of risk mentioned by the teachers. Once made the data, identified the indicators that on average the participants have attributed major importance: abusive parental relationships, school absenteeism, lost of interest, weak investment in school life and dysfunctional family life. Made the factorial analyse it were identified four nig categories: scholarly and social, familiar and cultural, support service and individual in similar to the one’s appointed by the literature. From this proceeding it was result the final propose of the instrument of the drop out risk diagnostic.
