O ?Espa?o de Mudan?a?, projecto gerido pela Santa Casa da Miseric?rdia do Concelho de Oliveira do Bairro, tem um Programa de Educa??o Parental (PEP) que funciona por encaminhamento e sinaliza??o de entidades deste Concelho. Neste sentido, o PEP ? constru?do de forma a responder ?s caracter?sticas e especificidades da popula??o-alvo que atende, n?o se baseando em nenhum programa- -modelo. Por este motivo, o presente estudo constituiu-se num estudo de caso com o objectivo de avaliar se o PEP est? a responder aos fins para os quais foi constru?do. Neste sentido, incorpora a caracteriza??o e avalia??o familiar de cada participante, a avalia??o do seu desempenho no decorrer das sess?es, a an?lise de mudan?as significativas ao n?vel das vari?veis adaptabilidade e coes?o familiar, recursos familiares, coping familiar e suporte social, e tamb?m a an?lise de mudan?as nas dificuldades e/ou nos problemas identificados na sinaliza??o. Atrav?s deste estudo foi poss?vel verificar que as mulheres participantes do PEP constituem um grupo com baixas qualifica??es, com percursos de pobreza, sendo benefici?rias da presta??o de Rendimento Social de Inser??o (RSI), e com problem?ticas que se encadeiam e influenciam v?rias ?reas das suas vidas. Contudo, constituem-se num grupo heterog?neo a n?vel de compet?ncias e necessidades. Tidas no seu conjunto, podemos concluir que 4 das 5 participantes tiveram um bom desempenho, concluindo-se que o PEP foi adequado para esta maioria Ao n?vel das vari?veis adaptabilidade e coes?o familiar, recursos familiares, coping familiar e suporte social n?o foram identificadas diferen?as estatisticamente significativas ao longo do programa, por?m ? de real?ar que, de forma global, as participantes melhoraram os seus resultados. ? ainda poss?vel verificar que o PEP teve um impacte positivo nas mesmas 4 formandas, as quais conseguiram ultrapassar algumas das dificuldades e/ou problemas que motivaram o encaminhamento. Foi poss?vel concluir que o facto de se tratar de um grupo heterog?neo veio trazer ganhos para as participantes, contudo um dos elementos, que tinha uma problem?tica associada ao alcoolismo, deveria ter sido integrado num grupo com caracter?sticas diferentes, raz?o pela qual o PEP n?o se constituiu como uma resposta adequada para este elemento. O estudo revela ainda que o PEP no Espa?o Mudan?a constitui uma mais-valia para colaborar na activa??o das compet?ncias pessoais, sociais e parentais das m?es que passam por dificuldades acrescidas, sendo de promover e potenciar este tipo de interven??es constru?das a partir das caracter?sticas e necessidades da popula??o-alvo. /

The "Espa?o Mudan?a? project run by the Santa Casa da Miseric?rdia do Concelho de Oliveira do Bairro, has a Parental Education Program (PEP), which only works by referral from entities in this same municipality. In this sense, PEP is built to respond as satisfactorily as possible to the characteristics and specificities of its target population, so it isn?t based on any model-program. For this reason, this study consisted of a case study in order to assess whether the PEP is to meet the purposes for which it was built. Accordingly, the present study incorporates the familiar characterization and evaluation of participants, the its performance evaluation along the program, the analysis of changes in adaptability and family cohesion, family resources, family coping and social support and also the analysis of changes on difficulties and / or problems identified by the forwarders. Through this study it was found that the participants in the PEP are low-skilled, with characteristic of poverty, which are also reflected in the fact that all are benefiting from the provision of Minimal Income, and issues that are interlinked and influence different areas of their lives. However, they constitute a heterogeneous group, in skills and needs. This heterogeneity could bring additional difficulties in the performance of trainees during the sessions, which in fact did not happen. For the 5 participants, we can point that 4 of them performed well, concluding that the PEP was appropriate for the majority. In terms of the variables family adaptability and cohesion, family resources, family coping and social support were not identified stastistically significant differences, but it is worth noting that, overall, the participants improved their scores. You can also verify that the PEP had a positive impact on the same 4 trainees, which managed to overcome some of the difficulties and / or problems that prompted the referral. It was concluded that an heterogeneous group has brought gains to the participants, but one of the elements, that had a problem related to alcoholism, should have been integrated into a group with different characteristics, for which the PEP was not a response to this element. The study also reveals that the PEP in ?Espa?o Mudan?a? is an asset to collaborate in the activation of personal, social and parenting for mothers who experience difficulty increased, and to promote and enhance such interventions built upon the characteristics and needs of the target population.
