Description
ABSTRACT: The aim of this study it’s to try find a relation between attitudes towards hypnosis and the level of hypnotic susceptibility. 127 participants were submitted, all college students and with an age average of 25,75 (SD=8,87). To measure attitudes we used the ATH scale - Attitudes Towards Hypnosis and to measure hypnotic susceptibility we used the HGSHS:A - Harvard Group Scale of Hypnotic Susceptibility. The results of the study showed that the subjects with negative attitudes towards hypnosis got low levels of hypnotic susceptibility and the subjects that got medium and superior scores on attitudes got higher levels of hypnotic susceptibility. Inside the sub-scales of the ATH, Positive Attitudes and Fearlessness we found differences with the susceptibility level. In the sub-scale Mental Stability that differences weren’t found
