Metáforas: uma combinação de tipos semânticos

Este trabalho, cujo objeto de estudo é a metáfora, objetiva demonstrar, com exemplos encontrados em língua portuguesa, que as asserções metafóricas de verbos causativos do campo semântico de destruição como devorar, explodir, estourar, quebrar, rasgar, incendiar, queimar e arrebentar apresentam uma regularidade interpretativa baseada na sua estrutura interna lexical e na combinatória dos tipos semânticos do veículo e do tópico da metáfora. Para se chegar a tal objetivo, baseou-se o estudo na teoria interacionista da metáfora, cuja principal característica é estabelecer a dimensão relevante para a interpretação da metáfora a partir do mapeamento estrutural da estrutura interna dos conceitos dos termos que entram em composição no enunciado metafórico. Tomou-se, como estrutura organizacional do conhecimento, a estrutura léxico-conceptual do Léxico Gerativo (PUSTEJOVSKY, 1995) a fim de estabelecer com maior precisão as dimensões relevantes que entram no mapeamento metafórico e, então estabelecer classes de tópicos com uma mesma dimensão relevante. Os resultados demonstram que combinações entre classes de tópicos e veículo de metáforas convencionais conduzem a uma interpretação mais específica. This work, whose object of study it is the metaphor, objective to demonstrate, with examples found in Portuguese language, that the metaphoric assertions of causative verbs of the semantic field of destruction present an established interpretative regularity in its lexical internal structure and the combinatorial of the semantic types of the vehicle and the topic of the metaphor. To arrive itself at such objective, the study was based in the Interaction theory of the metaphor, whose main characteristic is to establish the relevant dimension for the interpretation of the metaphor from the structural mapping of the internal structure of the concepts of the terms that enter in composition in the metaphoric statement. One was overcome, as organizational structure of the knowledge,the lexicon-conceptual structure of the generative lexicon (PUSTEJOVSKY, 1995) in order to establish with bigger precision the relevant dimensions that enter in the metaphoric mapping and, then to establish classes of topics with one same relevant dimension. The results demonstrate combinations between classes of topics and vehicles of conventional metaphors leads to a more specific interpretation.
