Amor, satisfação e desilusão : um estudo exploratório sobre a conjugalidade

O presente estudo exploratório, incluído no domínio da Psicologia da Família, pretende estudar a relação existente entre a as dimensões Confiança no Amor do Parceiro, Satisfação Conjugal e Desilusão Conjugal, bem como a influência de factores como o sexo, duração da relação e residência continental vs insular. No presente estudo de cariz quantitativo, participaram 80 indivíduos de ambos os sexos, casados ou em união de facto, que estivessem a viver num regime de coabitação em Portugal Continental ou na Região Autónoma dos Açores. Para esse efeito, foram aplicadas a Escala de Desilusão Conjugal/Relacional (Niehuis & Bartell, 2006; Niehuis, Reifman & Lee, 2010); uma Escala de Satisfação Conjugal de Kansas (Schumm et al., 1986), e a Escala de Fé no Amor do Parceiro (Murray, et al., 2011). Com o recurso ao software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 22.0 for Windows, os resultados principais apontam que a Confiança no Amor do Parceiro correlaciona-se negativamente com a Desilusão Conjugal e directamente com a Satisfação Conjugal, e estes dois últimos correlacionam-se negativamente entre si. Embora se denotem diferenças relevantes nas médias inter-grupais “duração da relação” (≤ 10 anos; ≥ 11 anos) em relação à dimensão Amor, não se verificaram diferenças estatisticamente significativas no que concerne ao sexo, duração da relação e residência continental vs. insular.

This exploratory study, embbed within Family Psychology, intends to study the relationship between the Faith in Partner‟s Love, Marital Satisfaction and Marital Disillusionment, as well as the influence of the sex, duration of the relationship and area of residence (continental vs insular). Thus, eighty individuals of both genders participated in this empirical quantitative research, all of whom were currently married or in a domestic partnership, and living together either in mainland Portugal or in the Autonomous Region of Azores. To this purpose, we used the Relationship Disillusionment Scale (Niehuis & Bartell, 2006; Niehuis, Reifman & Lee, 2010), the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale (Schumm et al. 1986), and the Faith in Partner’s Love Scale (Murray, et al., 2011). Using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 22.0 for Windows software, the results of the data analysis shows us that Love correlates negatively with Marital Disillusionment and directly with Marital Satisfaction, and the last two are negatively correlated. Although there were findings of relevant differences in means among the groups “duration of the relationship” (≤ 10 years; ≥ 11 years) regarding Faith in Partner‟s Love, there were no statistically significant differences regarding sex, duration of the relationship and continental vs. insular residence.
