Presently, digital technology is omnipresent and covers all areas of human activity. Artists have followed the development of digital systems, which explored from the beginning the potentialities this technology could bring to the arts. The present work focuses on the evolution of digital systems and how these have connected to artistic practices, highlighting the strategies that artists used when facing digital technology, and how digital technology created new practices in artwork.
