Este projecto de investigação visa recuperar o passado e as memórias individuais e colectivas, contribuindo para o conhecimento de uma Instituição de Ensino – a Escola Portuguesa de Maputo, em Moçambique, no tempo histórico da sua existência e deste estudo: 1985-1989. A história da sua criação, a descrição do itinerário da vida da instituição, a análise da dinâmica que a atravessou, a recuperação de fontes de informação arquivadas e o contributo para o (re)conhecimento da Instituição foram os objectivos fundamentais deste estudo. O trabalho assume características do estudo de caso histórico, na medida em se visa conhecer o passado de uma instituição de ensino. Desenvolveu-se um estudo descritivo e interpretativo apoiado na natureza qualitativa da investigação e seguiu-se uma metodologia descritiva, narrativa e biográfica, na medida em que se analisaram fragmentos da própria história de vida dos actores educativos. Aproxima-se, também, de um estudo etnográfico, em virtude de as questões terem emergido à medida que o estudo se desenvolveu, no envolvimento do investigador com o seu objecto de estudo e na intencionalidade descritiva da recolha de dados. A investigação sobre instituições educativas implica um estudo dos seus espaços, da organização pedagógico-didáctica, das estruturas de gestão e instrumentos de autonomia, das práticas e experiências pedagógicas e da vida escolar, da caracterização do corpo docente, dos discentes, entre outros, constituindo uma via para a construção da identidade histórica da instituição. Participaram no estudo aproximadamente cinquenta actores educativos com diversas funções na instituição alvo da nossa investigação. Os seus testemunhos orais e escritos, histórias de vida, permitiram identificar vivências na Escola, contribuindo para a reconstituição do itinerário e funcionamento da própria instituição educativa. Os dados da pesquisa foram recolhidos por vários processos que se cruzaram, incluindo a entrevista e o depoimento orais (em suporte áudio e depois transcritos) e/ ou escritos e a análise ao acervo documental e fotográfico, que ilustram realidades educativas analisadas no projecto, tendo permitido enriquecê-lo e proporcionando uma visão de conjunto sobre a instituição educativa.
This research project aims at recovering the past and the individual as well as collective memories, contributing for the knowledge of an Institution of Education - the Portuguese School of Maputo, in Mozambique, in its historical time of existence and of this study: 1985-1989. The history of its creation, the description of the itinerary of the life of the institution, the analysis of the dynamics that crossed through it, the recovery of sources of information filed and the contribution for a re knowledge of the Institution, were the fundamental objectives of this study. The work assumes characteristics of the study of an historical case, in the measure that it aims to know the past of an education institution. A descriptive and interpretative study was developed, supported by the qualitative nature of the research and was followed by a descriptive, biographical and narrative methodology, in the measure that even fragments of the history of the educators were analyzed. It comes close, also to a ethnographic study, in virtue that the questions have emerged as the study developed, in the involvement of the investigator with its object of study in the descriptive intention of the retraction of data. The inquiry on educative institutions implies a study of its spaces, of the pedagogical didactical organization, structures of management and instruments of autonomy, of practical and pedagogical experiences and of the pertaining school life, of the characterization of the faculty, the learning, among others, constituting a way for the construction of the historical identity of the institution. Participant in this study were approximately fifty educators with diverse functions in the institution of this inquiry. Their verbal and written certifications, histories of life, allowed identifying experiences in the School, contributing for the reconstitution of the itinerary and functioning of the proper educative institution. The data of the research was collected by several processes that interrelate with one another, including the verbal interview and the deposition (in support audio and later transcripts) and/or written and all the documentary and photographic data, that illustrate analyzed educative realities in project, having allowed to enrich it and providing a collective vision on the educative institution.
