O professor de Matemática: Um balanço de dez anos de investigação

Este trabalho traça um quadro geral do caminho percorrido em Portugal na investigação sobre concepções, saberes, práticas e formação de professores. Os estudos identificados são organizados por grandes períodos e temas, correspondendo o primeiro grande grupo de trabalhos corresponde aos mestrados de Boston; surgem de seguida os trabalhos centrados primeiro nas concepções e depois nas concepções e práticas dos professores; em terceiro lugar são considerados diversos trabalhos que procuram perspectivar a formação tendo em conta as novas orientações didácticas, com relevo para as novas tecnologias; em quarto lugar refere-se a época actual, marcada pelo interesse no estudo dos saberes profissionais e do desenvolvimento profissional. Procura-se apontar o que foram os principais contributos de cada um destes períodos e correntes, sem deixar de discutir as suas ambiguidades e limitações. Finalmente, apontam-se algumas vias de desenvolvimento futuro, tanto em termos de problemáticas como de abordagens metodológicas.

This study outlines what has been in Portugal research carried out about teachers’ conceptions, knowledge, practices and teacher education. The studies identified are organized by periods and themes; the first set of studies corresponds to the masters’ degrees awarded in the Boston programme; the second group of studies focused in a first moment in the conceptions and then in the conceptions and practices of teachers; a third group is developed around the new didactical orientations, with emphasis in new information technologies; fourthly, it is considered the actual period, in which stands the interest by professional knowledge and professional development. The essential contributions of each period and trend are pointed, discussing their ambiguities and limitations. Finally, it points to several lines of future development, both in terms of problématiques as of methodological approaches.
