Caminhando entre passos tradicionais e modernos : um olhar sobre a satisfação conjugal

Tese de Mestrado Integrado em Psicologia (Psicologia Clínica e da Saúde/Núcleo de Psicologia Clínica Sistémica), apresentada à Universidade de Lisboa através da Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação, 2008

O presente estudo enquadra-se no âmbito da Psicologia da Família, mais especificamente, no âmbito da conjugalidade. Pretende-se estudar, numa amostra de 146 indivíduos portugueses: 1) as variáveis satisfação conjugal e a proximidade em função da situação relacional (casamento / união de facto) e em função da religiosidade (não crente ecrente) e 2) a satisfação em diferentes áreas da vida conjugal em função da situação relacionale em função da religiosidade. Os instrumentos utilizados foram a EASAVIC (Narciso e Costa,1996) e a IOS (Aron, Aron e Smollan, 1992). A análise quantitativa de resultados foi realizada com recurso ao software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 15.0 for Windows, tendo-se concluído que: 1) não existem diferenças significativas face à proximidade relativamente à situação relacional e religiosidade; 2) verificaram-se diferenças significativas na satisfação conjugal relativamente à situação relacional, sendo esta maior na união de facto e, relativamente à religiosidade, não se verificaram diferenças significativas.

The current quantitative research is enclosed in the field of Family Psychology, mainly in marital life. Our goals were to study in a sample of 146 portuguese individuals: 1) the variables global marital satisfaction and closeness in the light of the relational situation (marriage / cohabitation) and of the religiosity (non believer and believer) and 2) global satisfaction in different areas of marital life in light of the relational situation and of the religiosity. The following instruments were used: EASAVIC ( Evaluation of Satisfaction in Areas of Marital Life Scale ; Narciso and Costa, 1996), IOS (Inclusion of Other in the Self Scale; Aron, Aron and Smollan, 1992). The quantitative data analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 15.0 for Windows software, and it was found that: 1) there were no significant differences concerning closeness in respect to relation situation and in respect to religiosity; 2) significant differences concerning marital satisfaction in respect to relational situation were found: higher levels were associated with cohabitation and, in respect to religiosity, there were no significant differences.
