Este relatório é uma reflexão sobre a importância da alfabetização dos alunos em termos de cultura visual. Aborda-se a questão da cultura visual para além de um mero recurso didático ao serviço de uma aula. Isto é, considerou-se neste trabalho de investigação a cultura visual não como um meio, mas um fim em si mesmo, pois, é necessária para o desenvolvimento mental e criativo dos alunos, uma vez que ver, saber ler e interpretar imagens aumenta o seu espírito crítico. Mostrar imagens em sala de aula é uma responsabilidade do professor, porque ter um papel ativo no processo de aprendizagem motiva os alunos a questionarem sobre a sua cultura e a cultura de outros tempos e espaços. Pretende-se descrever, com esta dissertação, uma experiência de ensino através da ação e da reflexão, incidindo, essencialmente, através do fazer artístico e processo criativo, do conhecimento sustentado pela experiência e da leitura da obra de arte como processo para compreender o mundo.

This report is a reflection on the importance of literacy of students in terms of visual culture. It addresses the question of visual culture beyond mere teaching resource in the service of a lesson. This is considered in this research visual culture not as a means but an end in itself, because it is necessary for mental development and creative students, once they see, knowing how to read and interpret images increases your critical thinking. Display images in the classroom is a teacher's responsibility, because having an active role in the learning process motivates students to question about their culture and the cultures of other times and spaces. It is intended to describe in this dissertation, a teaching experience through action and reflection, focusing primarily through art making and creative process, supported by the knowledge and experience of reading the work of art as a process to understand the world .
