The ideas presented in this dissertation will complement my 2015 exhibition, entitled Neptune. I will seek to investigate the following theories, as clearly as possible: relationship between art theory and practice, challenges and inconsistencies of artistic investigation in the academic environment, distinctions between communication and artistic expression, the misuse of art as merchandise, and finally utopias related to the author/spectator partnership. Subsequently, I will present my practical trajectory during this master degree with the aim of shedding a light on the relationship between my experiences and issues tackled by theory. My intention is to value art practice as a fundamental generator of knowledge and transformation, pushing against its compliance to market interests, and including the spectator in the discussion, valuing his/her autonomy.
