Em Lisboa o processo de Industrialização só arrancou verdadeiramente na segunda metade do século XIX, com a construção de fábricas ao longo da frente marginal, para o Ocidente, desde Boavista prolongando-se pelo vale de Alcântara e para o Oriente, desde Xabregas ao Poço de Bispo, penetrando pelo vale de Chelas. A existência de terrenos planos em geral resultantes de aterros, as ligações fluviais, e mais tarde, as ferroviárias justificam a localização de grande número de unidades industriais. O prolongamento da industrialização até à primeira década do século XX, permitiu que se produzissem exemplos mais interessantes de arquitectura industrial. Neste contexto, destaca-se, entre outros, o edifício da Central Tejo, situado na Junqueira, pela sua grandeza e pelo seu aspecto singular. O presente estudo tem como objectivo abordar as relações entre o percurso evolutivo e a metodologia analítica dos factores organizativos fundamentais que actuam no edifício- A Central Tejo. The process of industrialisation in Lisbon only really toock off in the second half of the XIX Th century with the construction of factories along the watherfront, westwards from Boavista extending along the Alcântara valley and eastwards from Xabregas to Poço do Bispo permeating the Chelas Valley. The existence of flat land mostly resulting from embankments, river, and later, train transport justified the location of a large number of industrial units. The continuation of industrialisation into the first decada of the Xxth century made for the production of more interesting examples of industrial architecture. In this context, the CENTRAL TEJO building located in Junqueira stands out on account of its size and singular aspect. This study aims to broach the relationships between the evolutionary development and the analytical methodology of the fundamental organisational factors which are present in the building- The Central Tejo.
