A arquitetura contemporânea passa pelo aproveitamento de recursos e pela criação de espaços dinamizadores das cidades, que contribuam para a regeneração urbana e coesão social. O presente trabalho pretende analisar a arquitetura de integração numa perspetiva sustentável, através da intervenção num objeto arquitetónico, no sentido de permitir a sua conversão para uma escola de jazz e clube noturno. Pretende-se abordar e compreender as necessidades funcionais de um espaço deste tipo, propondo uma metodologia de intervenção que respeita o valor histórico e cultural da pré-existência. Procura-se também demonstrar que a reabilitação e o aproveitamento de recursos naturais e históricos são, por si só, uma forma de intervir promovendo o desenvolvimento sustentável. Desta forma, este trabalho, que procura uma atualização na resposta aos problemas do desenvolvimento urbano, serve para o enriquecimento de uma metodologia atual de intervenção em edifícios e zonas urbanas históricas. Assim, serve este estudo para o acompanhamento da leitura de uma proposta de projeto para o antigo Picadeiro da Escola Politécnica de Lisboa, na sua conversão para espaço cultural e de ensino. Em última análise, a presente investigação tem como objetivo a contribuição para uma visão integrada dos temas abordados.
ABSTRACT - The contemporary architecture is made through the use of resources and the creation of dynamic spaces in the cities, contributing to urban regeneration and social cohesion.This work intends to analyze Rehabilitation in a sustainable perspective through na intervention in an architectural object, allowing its conversion to a school of jazz and night club. It is intended to approach and understand the functional needs of such a space, proposing an intervention methodology that respects the historical and cultural value of the pre-existence. This study demonstrates also that the rehabilitation and the use of natural and historical resources are themselves a form of intervention that promotes sustainable development. Therefore, this work, seeks for an update of response to the problems of urban development, and serves to enrich a contemporary method of intervention in urban áreas and historical buildings This research serves for the monitoring of the reading of a project proposal for the old equestrian building of the Polytechnic School of Lisbon, converting it to a cultural and educational space. In the final analysis, this research aims to contribute to an integrated vision of the topics approached.
