Dissertação para obtenção do grau de Mestre em Arquitectura com Especialização de Arquitetura de Interiores, apresentada na Universidade de Lisboa - Faculdade de Arquitetura.
Esta investigação tem como objectivo definir e aplicar em projecto, os parâmetros para a criação de espaços que relacionem o utilizador com as atmosferas que o rodeiam, de forma mais próxima e íntima. Pretende-se perceber a importância da projeção do Homem no espaço, assim como, a importância das memórias que a vivência dos espaços cria no utilizador. Procura-se compreender como, através dos sentidos e percepção sensorial, através da modelação dos espaços pela luz, cor e matéria, conseguimos retomar a proximidade com a arquitectura. Este trabalho reflecte também sobre, como os espaços e as suas qualidades, são capazes de influenciar a nossa vivência e interacção com mesmos, projectando-os de acordo com esta premissa. Que quanto mais próximos da génese humana e das nossas sensações, mais naturais nos serão e também, maior será a nossa ligação com os mesmos. Tendo o antigo Convento de São Paulo, como objecto de trabalho, pretende-se explorar de que forma, intervindo no construído, conseguimos adapta-lo a um novo uso e criar ou intensificar qualidades espaciais do lugar, recorrendo a espaços sensoriais, modelados pela luz, cor e matéria. Assim, através da reconversão do património construído convertendo um antigo Convento num espaço de experimentação, nomeadamente de música e dança reflecte-se sobre o projectar um espaço com luz, cor e matéria. Estabelecemos e reflectimos sobre uma relação importante entre o Homem e o meio que ele habita acreditando que quanto melhor for a adaptação do edifício, entre antigo e novo, e preservação da sua memória/génese, mais qualidade terão os espaços e as suas atmosferas.
ABSTRACT: This research aims to define and apply in the project process, parameters for the creation of spaces that relate the user with his, surrounding atmosphere, in a closer and more intimate manner. It is intended to understand the importance of man’s projection on existing, space, as well as the importance of the memories that the lived in spaces create upon the user. It is sought to understand how, through the senses and sensory perception, by modeling the space with light, color and matter, we are able to retain proximity with, architecture. This work also reflects on how spaces and their qualities are able to influence our living experience and our interaction with these spaces, designing them, therefore, in accordance with this principle. The closer we are to our human origins and feelings, the more natural they will become to us and greater will our connection be with them. Having the former convent of São Paulo as the object of this study, it is intended to explore in what way, by intervening on an existing building, can we adapt it to a new use, and create or enhance spatial qualities of the place, by means of sensory spaces, modeled by light, color and matter. Thus, through the conversion of the built heritage, converting the old convent into a space of experimentation, namely of music and dance, a reflection, is done on designing a space with light, color and matter. We establish and reflect on an important relationship between man and the environment he inhabits believing that the better the adaptation of the building is, between old and new, and the better the preservation of its memory/ genesis is, the spaces and their atmospheres will be of higher quality.
