Acta Médica Portuguesa is the scientific journal of the Portuguese Medical Association. Our main goal is the publication of medical-related scientific articles. The journal's structure includes different types of article, namely editorials, perspectives, originals, reviews, clinical cases, guidelines, medical images and letters to the editor. All articles are subject to peer review by two independent reviewers. The journal is owned by Ordem dos Médicos (Portuguese Medical Association). Acta Médica Portuguesa is one of the five Portuguese medical journals indexed with PubMed/Medline. It may also be found at the following international scientific database: Web of Science/Science Citation Index, Directory of Open Access Journals, Chemical Abstracts, Index Copernicus, Embase, SafetyLit e Index das Revistas Médicas Portuguesas.
