Self-multiplicity is a widely recognized phenomenon within psychology. The study of how self-continuity emerges amidst self-multiplicity remains a crucial issue, however. Dialogical approaches are widely viewed as suitable for developing this field of study but they demand coherent methods compatible with their theoretical bases. After reviewing the available methods for the study of the dialogical self, as well as other dialogical methods for the study of psychotherapy, we conclude that we still lack a method which can be used by external observers and is devoted to the systematic tracing of the dialogical dynamics of self-positions as they unfold over time. A new method, positioning microanalysis, is described in detail as a possible way to overcome current limitations in methods focused on the dialogicality inherent in selfhood processes. Positioning microanalysis takes a genetic-developmental perspective on dialogical processes in the self and allows for the depiction of microgenetic movements of self-positions over time and the establishment of more or less stable sequences or patterns of positions. This is illustrated by its application to an emotion-focused therapy session.

Collaboration between diferente scientific areas might profundly influence the scientific study of human well-being and the tretament of many diseases. Based on that, this internship was esigned with the goal to explore one of those possible collaborations between Psychology and Biotechnology. These are two scientific áreas in which i share a special interest because it allows having a deeper understanding of the brain and its functions. In fact, this experience allowed me not only to acquire new and essential skills but also to recognize the importance of interdisciplinar research, mainly applied to human well-being and preventive strategies. Within this scope, i was parto f a research project implemented by the HNL and CBQF, to understand the Effect of a probiotic producto, called Kombucha, on the human brain, acting through the “gut-brainaxis”. This research resulted in a internationally refereed scientific publication. This project allowed me to be parto f both laboratories (the HNL end the CBQF), where i was able to acquire scientific skills at various levels and personal skills.

Apesar de ser reconhecida a importância da direção de fotografia no cinema, esta nem sempre é vista com o devido valor artístico. Os requerimentos de alto conhecimento técnico facilmente ofuscam a importância que esta função tem não só para que a narrativa seja transcrita de uma forma compreensiva e visualmente apelativa, mas também para a criação de uma reação emocional no espetador. O diretor de fotografia tem sobre a sua responsabilidade a manipulação de duas ferramentas absolutamente fundamentais para a criação cinematográfica: a câmara, o equipamento que permite o registo de imagens visuais; e a luz, o elemento essencial necessário para que as imagens se formem. Este ensaio parte do trabalho de direção de fotografia no filme Johnny White, com especial destaque no trabalho de iluminação, onde foram tomadas diversas opções que procuram criar um maior envolvimento emocional entre a narrativa e o espectador. O objetivo é, neste sentido, descrever as intenções, referências e técnicas utilizadas neste processo, assim como uma análise e discussão do resultado obtido.

Taking into account brief definitions of Philosophy, Psychology and Psychiatry, the present article seeks to demonstrate that Hegel’s Anthropology a) solves the classic body/mind dualism, b) gives a comprehensive answer to the query of the Universals, c) already conceives a philosophy of corporality within which lies an impulsive unconsciousness integrated in psyche’s structure by means of reason’s dialectical work, sui generis in Hegel’s way of thinking. Finally, d) in view of the dialectic-‘speculative freedom immanent to Spirit, along with contemporary investigations, it shows that consciousness and madness are not reductive to bio-‘psychopharmacological mechanicist model that supports Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis´s essential.

The work reported in this thesis addresses the research question of when and how positive psychological states impact positive behavior and positive organizational development. We present two theoretical essays and three empirical studies to find possible answers to this question and we use a multitude of methodologies with different epistemological assumptions, including quantitative correlation analysis, social network analysis and qualitative grounded theory analysis. In the whole, our work shows that positive psychological states are fundamental to promote individual and organizational higher-levels of performance and well-being. It also points that the capability to induce positive psychological states in others (an “alter-positive” approach) is a powerful way to develop outstanding individuals and organizations. In a broader sense, it stresses the need to promote good vibrations as a fundamental route to create a better world.
