Resumo: Lesões periapicais, obtidas de pacientes de ambos os sexos, com idades entre 11 e 71 anos, foram examinadas sob os aspectos clinico e histologico, procurando-se reavaliar os mecanismos patogenéticos envolvidos. Vinte lesões, imediatamente após a remoção cirúrgica foram seccionadas ao meio, sendo uma das partes fixadas em glutaraldeido a 2,5%, incluidas em araldite, seccionadas em cortes de meia micra e coroadas com azul de toluidina a 1%¿Observação: O resumo, na íntegra poderá ser visualizado no texto completo da tese digital

Abstract: Periapical lesions collected from patients aged 11 to 71 years were examined to observe the clinical and histological features and for evaluating the pathogenetic mechanisms involved. Twenty lesions were cut into two equal parts, immediatly after surgery. One part of these lesions were fixed in 2,5% buffered glutaraldehyde, embedded in araldite and 0,5 um sections were stained with 1% toluidine blue.
