O presente trabalho pretende avaliar a eficácia do Acordo Antidumping, buscando identificar se o mesmo cumpre com o seu objetivo de conter a prática de dumping, ou se perdeu hoje seu propósito, servindo, frequentemente, como um instrumento para a aplicação de políticas protecionistas por parte dos países que participam do Tratado. Serão estudados os impactos das medidas antidumping quando mal aplicadas e a forma como vêm sendo impostas, a fim de se entender os reais efeitos do referido Acordo nas trocas comerciais internacionais e na indústria. Por fim, serão apresentadas algumas propostas de mudanças na atual política antidumping.

The present work intends to evaluate the efficiency of the Antidumping Agreement, seeking to identify if it accomplishes its objective of containing the practice of dumping, or if it has lost its purpose nowadays, acting, frequently, as an instrument used to apply protectionist policies by the countries that sign the Agreement. Throughout the work, there will be an analysis of the impacts of poorly applied antidumping measures and an study that shows if they are being properly applied, with the intent of understanding the real effects of the mentioned Agreement on the international trades and industry. At last, some proposals of changes in the current antidumping policy will be discussed.
