Ora: o caso público “SwissLeaks” é fruto duma investigação jornalística – 130 jornalistas de 45 países - sobre uma profunda e ilícita evasão fiscal. Segundo notícias vindas a público, houve incentivos a esta fuga ao fisco do banco britânico HSBC-Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, e em especial da sua filial suíça. Mais de €180.000 milhões referentes a cerca de 100.000 clientes e 20.000 empresas offshore, paraísos fiscais. Quanto aos outros cerca de 60 milhões de clientes mundiais pouco se sabe. Foi o ex-funcionário Hervé Falciani que também entregou documentação em 2008 às autoridades francesas. § Now, the SwissLeaks public case is the result of a journalistic investigation - 130 journalists from 45 countries - about a deep and illicit tax evasion. According to public news reports, there have been incentives to this tax evasion by the British bank HSBC-Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, and especially its Swiss subsidiary.
