In the globalized world, the power is based on economic criteria. During the twentieth century, the Europe,and France in this particularly case, played a strategic role in the conception of the world, as we know it today, determined by its insertion in the world’s economy.This research,based on the economic relations between France and the Arab countries, will observe the essential factors of influence and bilateral growth, as well as the intercultural relations and their reach. In recent years, France has taken a decisive political position to eradicate terrorism in Iraq and Syria, however, the consequences of this option are far from being ideal.The purpose of this research is to present facts of a sensitive, complex and pertinent theme. It focuses on the most economically important countries, namely Morocco, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and includes Iran, a non-Arab country, because of its geopolitical importance.The research is essentially based on data provided by the French government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The press was also considered, especially the publications after the terrorist attacks in France,in 2015 and 2016.

No mundo globalizado, o poder assenta nos critérios económicos. Durante o século XX,a Europa, e particularmente neste caso a França, tiveram um papel estratégico na conceção do mundo, tal como o conhecemos hoje, determinado pela sua inserção na economia mundial. Esta investigação, baseada nas relações económicas entre a França e os países Árabes, observará os fatores essenciais de influência e crescimento bilateral, assim como as relações interculturais e o seu alcance. Nos últimos anos, a França assumiu uma posição política decisiva para erradicar o terrorismo no Iraque e na Síria, no entanto, as consequências dessa opção estão longe de ser as ideais. O objetivo desta investigação é apresentar factos de um tema sensível, complexo e pertinente. Incide nos países com maior relevância económica, nomeadamente Marrocos, Argélia, Arábia Saudita, Qatar e os Emirados Árabes Unidose é incluído o Irão, um país não árabe, devido à sua importância geopolítica. A pesquisa é fundamentada essencialmente em dados fornecidos pelo governo francês, através do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros e Desenvolvimento Internacional e do Ministério da Economia e das Finanças. A imprensa também foi considerada, sobretudo as publicações após os atentados terroristas em França, em 2015 e 2016.
