This study seeks to analyze how the acquisition of historical awareness and historical evidence by children can be enhanced by applying Project Work Methodology. Research-action project developed in 2021, in the context of a curricular internship, carried out within the scope of the master’s degree in teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Portuguese and History and Geography of Portugal in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. It focuses on mastering second-order concepts, involving the educational strategy of Project Work Methodology, in relation to content related to the Estado Novo. It aimed to promote the mobilization of awareness and historical evidence, verify the development of historical awareness through the educational strategy applied and analyze the importance of project work to develop essential skills for the apprehension of second-order concepts. Qualitative research, using observation and questionnaire surveys, with data submitted to content analysis. There are different levels of use and interest in the themes explored, the development of historical skills and the mobilization of second-order concepts underlying the proposed tasks, identifying obstacles in the intervention and analysis of the collected content.
Este estudo procura analisar de que forma a aquisição de consciência e de evidência histórica, por parte das crianças, pode ser potenciada pela aplicação da Metodologia de Trabalho por Projeto. Projeto de investigação-ação desenvolvido em 2021, em contexto de estágio curricular, realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e de Português e História e Geografia de Portugal no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Centra-se no domínio dos conceitos de segunda ordem, envolvendo a estratégia educativa de Metodologia de Trabalho por Projeto, relativamente a conteúdos referentes ao Estado Novo. Visava promover a mobilização de consciência e evidência histórica, averiguar o desenvolvimento de consciência histórica mediante a estratégia educativa aplicada e analisar a importância do trabalho por projeto para desenvolver competências essenciais à apreensão de conceitos de segunda ordem. Investigação de natureza qualitativa, com recurso a observação e inquéritos por questionário, sendo os dados submetidos a análise de conteúdo. Registam-se diferentes níveis de aproveitamento e interesse nas temáticas exploradas, o desenvolvimento de competências históricas e a mobilização de conceitos de segunda-ordem subjacentes às tarefas propostas, identificando-se obstáculos na intervenção e na análise do conteúdo recolhido.
