Balanço sobre o estudo das religiões na Península Ibérica antiga e na Alta Idade Média

From the mid-20th century, many leading researchers have focused their studies of religions on the Iberian Peninsula and covering the period ranging from the implantation of Christianity through to the era of reconquest. Within this scope, we seek to identify the main historians and studies produced in recent decades. We categorise these studies in accordance with four main areas: Roman religions and Celtic and Romanesque rites, the Christian religion, the Jewish religion and the Islamic religion. For each respective area, we set out some of the most relevant aspects of the studies that either have been or should be completed: the main innovations, revisions, shortcomings and the approaches to be taken forwards.

Desde meados do século XX, múltiplos investigadores de grande envergadura se têm vindo a dedicar ao estudo das religiões no espaço peninsular ibérico no período que vai da implantação do cristianismo à época da reconquista. Procuramos nesta resenha identificar quais têm sido os principais historiadores e estudos que surgidos nestas últimas décadas. Agrupamos a identificação destes mesmos estudos de acordo com quatro grandes áreas: a da religião romana e ritos célticos e românicos; a da religião cristã; a da religião judaica; e a da religião islâmica. Em cada uma destas áreas, fazemos menção a alguns dos aspetos mais relevantes dos estudos que nelas se têm vindo a fazer ou que merecem ser feitos: as principais inovações, as revisões, as lacunas e os caminhos a seguir.
