The advent of digital technologies and the global computer network has resulted in a new media support, which has brought significant modifications to the field of communication. A recent example is participatory journalism on the Internet, which enables any citizen to become a news producer. In this article, we try to reflect on this practice in the light of theories, concepts and ideals of traditional journalism, in order to identify changes, adaptations or ruptures between one and the other mode of production and circulation.
O advento das tecnologias digitais e da rede mundial de computadores resultou em um novo suporte midiático, que vem trazendo modificações significativas ao campo da comunicação. Um exemplo recente é o jornalismo participativo na Internet, que possibilita a qualquer cidadão transformar-se em produtor de notícias. Neste artigo, procura-se refletir sobre essa prática à luz das teorias, conceitos e ideais do jornalismo tradicional, a fim de identificar mudanças, adaptações ou rupturas entre um e outro modo de produção e circulação.
