The availability of scientific information is growing exponentially. Healthcare professionals who wish to keep up-to-date with scientificliterature and find the best information should spend their time finding resources that summarize the best available evidence. Thismanuscript aims to provide bibliographic research knowledge and skills, to contribute to an increase in the use of e-learning, to “Pushand Pull” correct information and, in other words, to indicate how to deal with information overload.

O volume de informação científica disponível está a crescer exponencialmente. Os profissionais de saúde que querem manter-se actualizados com a literatura científica e encontrar a melhor informação devem investir o seu tempo a encontrar recursos que sintetizam a melhor evidência. Os objectivos deste artigo são proporcionar a aquisição de competências e conhecimentos ao nível da pesquisa bibliográfica; contribuir para o aumento da utilização dos recursos electrónicos e ‘empurrar, puxar’, ‘Push and Pull’ a informação correcta, ou seja indicar como lidar com o excesso de informação.
