All the scientific research is a human activity of great ethical responsibility because of the inherent characteristics. Since the selection of the problem until the publication of the results, the investigator has a long path to cross, and even the smallest “details” can have a major importance. The present article arises with one main objective: discuss some of these “details”, always with the finality of positively contribute to the development of nursing trough a better nursing investigation, where the competence, the respect of the dignity of the human being and the sense of responsibility shall be the presupposes of any work.

Toda a investigação científica é uma actividade humana de grande responsabilidade ética pelas características que lhe são inerentes. Desde a selecção do problema até à publicação dos resultados, o investigador tem um longo caminho a percorrer, podendo ser de grande importância alguns aspectos que, à primeira vista, são de pormenor. O presente artigo surge com o objectivo principal de discutir alguns destes “pormenores”, sempre no ensejo de contribuir positivamente para o desenvolvimento da enfermagem, através de melhor investigação em enfermagem, em que a competência, o respeito pela dignidade da pessoa humana e sentido de responsabilidade deverão ser os pressupostos de qualquer trabalho.
