This article is part of a research about the role of UNESCO in the history of documentary filmmaking, between 1945 and 1975. Here are some of the data that were collected in the Archives of UNESCO in Paris, concerning the creation of the Film Division of that agency. Also treat some aspects of the cinema postwar. And we analyzed the production of the film “World Without End” (1953), made by British filmmakers Paul Rotha and Basil Wright, for UNESCO.

Esse artigo é parte de uma pesquisa a respeito da atuação da UNESCO na história do cinema documentário, entre 1945 e 1975. Apresentamos aqui uma parte dos dados que foram coletados nos Arquivos da UNESCO, em Paris, referentes à criação da Divisão de Cinema desse organismo. Contextualizamos alguns aspectos do cinema no pós-guerra. E analisamos a produção do filme “World Without End”, de 1953, realizado pelos documentaristas britânicos Paul Rotha e Basil Wright, especialmente para a UNESCO.
