Pensamento crítico na Internet: o caso do vídeo “Cancer is fungus”

This article focuses on the analysis of the video entitled “Cancer is fungus” available on YouTube. This videoshows an interview with an Italian MD named Simoncini that states that cancer is a fungus. The arguments used by this doctor and the comments made by viewers were analyzed in order to detect the use of Critical Thinking. Ennis' (1987) taxonomy was used to determine which abilities of Critical Thinking were used. We were able to conclude that the viewers of this video used Critical Thinking in their comments and that the most used abilities were “interacting with others”, “analyze arguments” and “judge the credibility of sources”.

Neste artigo fez-se um estudo do vídeo “Cancer is fungus” disponível no YouTube. Este vídeo mostra uma entrevista ao Dr. Simoncini, médico italiano que defende que o cancro é um fungo. Procedeu-se à análise dos argumentos utilizados pelo protagonista do vídeo e das interações que se geraram na área de comentários ao vídeo, para se poder avaliar a utilização de Pensamento Crítico segundo a taxonomia de Ennis (1987). Foi possível verificar que os comentadores do vídeo utilizam as capacidades de Pensamento Crítico nos seus comentários, sendo as mais utilizadas “interatuar com os outros”, “analisar argumentos” e “avaliar a credibilidade da fonte”.
