Description

Presbycusis is a multifactorial disease that represents the damage of intrinsic and extrinsic factors, acting in the inner ear through life. Presbyacusis or age-related hearing loss (ARHL) is estimated to affect up to 1.5 billion of people aged 60 by 2025. The aim of this study was to genetically characterize individuals with presbycusis, for GJB6, NAT2, GRM7 genes and mtDNA haplogroups in order to evaluate contributions to ARHL diagnosis
