The Porto Metropolitan Area Social Innovation Promotion Program (PPIS-AMP) is an initiative included in the Action Plan for Disadvantaged Communities, which the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) has been financing since the end of 2021 in this territory. The PPIS-AMP is a program designed for the training and support of teams coming from the different municipalities within the Porto Metropolitan Area which are involved in the design and development of experimental social innovation projects to be implemented during 2025. This article presents and discusses the work process associated with the deployment of the Program. Besides presenting the main principles on which it is based and the purposes it aims to achieve, the article wishes to critically appraise the work experience carried out, the main challenges encountered and the expected results, and offers clues for the organization and implementation of future initiatives of the same type, to be conceived and developed within the same or in other territorial and institutional frameworks and scales.
