Description
Photovoice is a community-based participatory action research method used with vulnerable groups, being LGBTQIAþone of the groups addressed. This systematic review aims to understand the use of photovoice with members of the LGBTQIAþ community. We searched for literature across five databases and performed a quality assessment and narrative synthesis. The main findings, based on 39 included studies, show that: (1) the topics focus the intersection of LGBTQIAþ, race/ethnicity, and other vulnerabilities; (2) the photovoice method comprised more individual interviews, and less involvement of audiences; (3) photovoice advantages involve the open expression, while limitations were maintaining some closure about some issues.
