RESUMO: O Museu Regional do Dundo iniciou a sua atividade em 1936 e é um dos mais importantes de Angola. As áreas mais importantes das suas coleções são a Geologia, Etnografia, Arqueologia, Zoologia e Botânica. O presente trabalho explora a importância patrimonial da geologia regional através da seleção e inventariação de sete locais de importância geológica (LIG’s), com vista à ampliação das coleções e uma integração mais completa do museu ao nível do conhecimento geológico.
ABSTRACT: The Regional Museum of Dundo began its activities in 1936 and is one of the most important museums in Angola. The main areas of the museum collections are Geology, Ethnography, Archaeology, Zoology and Botany. This research focuses on the heritage importance of the regional geology through the selection the collections. The various stages of work enable the selection of seven Sites of Geological Interest, and a better integration of the museum in terms of geological knowledge.
