Description
Tese de mestrado, Estudos Curatoriais, Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Belas Artes, 2012
This dissertation has the purpose of examining the relevance of conflict within the curatorial practice. Conflict, although constituting a ubiquitous presence in any relational dynamics, remains a relatively undeveloped theme inside the curatorial studies. This research, whose results are now presented, focus on identifying relational typologies between the curator and the elements with which he normally interacts, always searching for an understanding of the importance of agonist approach to the qualitative value of those relationships. The dissensus as a fundamental element for the constitution of the political, and discourse visibility as given by its use in the public space, are both topics of particular importance for this work. The dissertation discusses these and other aspects inherent to conflict in order to allow a broader understanding of the dimensions involved in curatorial practice and contribute for the debate regarding the position of curator inside the society to which he belongs
