Este artigo discute a situação da Somália, especialmente da recente crise alimentar, a partir da história recente do país, sobretudo com a desintegração do Estado com a queda de Siad Barre, no início da década de 1990. Destaca-se que apenas será possível encaminhar a questão da fome quando o Estado for reconstruído e a paz restaurada.

This article discusses the situation in Somalia, especially the recent food crisis, from the country’s recent history, especially with the disintegration of the state with the fall of Siad Barre in the early 1990s.
