The adoption of Precision Agriculture (PA) is discussed in this article, focusing on Brazilian economy, one of the economies with the greatest potential for its adoption. The adoption of innovative practices entails different perceptions from the various communities involved – from researchers, innovators, to farmers. Thus, this paper discusses the different perception of these groups of economic agents in contact with the Brazilian PA. It also compares the results obtained with previous works focused on this reality. It was possible to verify that different groups have a different perception of PA adoption, which is situated, in the central estimate, at early majority level for diagnostic tools and innovators for application tools. Such results suggest the need of an effective management of PA adoption in Brazil, and probably in other emerging economies, at the risk of the advantages perceived by the groups more familiar with technological development being not the same as most other communities of adopters.
