Descrição
Large seaports encompass high maritime and land vehicle traffic, moving tens of thousands of tons in goods per year. Future seaports will allow autonomous driving trucks to enter the terminal and collaborate with local autonomous loading/unloading vehicles and equipment in a seamless way, providing a much higher transport efficiency than it is possible to currently attain. A key requirement to realize this goal is the ability to establish trust in a secure, timely, and decentralized fashion, allowing vehicles to build on such trust to exchange vital information that enables the development of critical services such as autonomous driving. In this paper, a secure, portable, decentralized, and user-controllable identity scheme for truck authentication is presented. The solution aims to be efficient in creating a secure communication channel between two entities and verifying both identities in ad-hoc scenarios within a short amount of time.
