O presente trabalho baseou-se em uma pesquisa junto aos evangelhos canônicos de Mateus, Marcos, Lucas e João, e ao romance Evangelho segundo Jesus Cristo, de José Saramago. No primeiro capítulo, analisa-se a representação de Jesus nos evangelhos de São Mateus, São Marcos, São Lucas e São João. No segundo capítulo, o romance é o objeto de análise. Apontam-se as passagens que caracterizam a humanidade do Jesus representado por Saramago, que diferem do mito representado pelos evangelistas. No terceiro capítulo, destacam-se as relações entre as narrativas, marcando o divino dos evangelhos canônicos e o humano do romance.

This paper was based on a study on the canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, as well as on the novel The Gospel According to Jesus Christ, by José Saramago. The first chapter examines the representation of Jesus in the gospels of St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke and St. John. In the second chapter, the novel is the object of analysis. It brings attention to the passages that characterize the humanity of Jesus depicted by Saramago, wich differ from the myth represented by the evangelists. And in the third chapter, we hi highlight the relationschip between the narratives, featuring the divine in the canonical gospels and the human in the novel.
