Agricultura familiar e a crise hídrica no sertão cearense

The objective of this study was to assess the capacity of family farmers to recover from the most practiced crops (maize and beans) in the Sertão dos Inhamunsin response to the stress caused by water instability between 1977 and 2013. The evolution of the production value, areas harvested and yields of these crops were evaluated. In order to estimate this resilience index, we use the decomposition method in the main components of the factorial analysis to find the weights associated with the indicators used in the index format. The results showed the great instability of the crops, which even surpasses the instability of the pluviometric regime, because in addition to this climatic irregularity there are problems associated with technological backwardness, which was not the object of the study, and the fluctuation of prices shown in the research.

O trabalho teve como objetivo aferir a capacidade de recuperação da agricultura familiar a partir das culturas mais praticadas (milho e feijão) no Sertão dos Inhamunsem resposta ao estresse provocado pela instabilidade hídrica entre os anos de 1977 e 2013. Avaliou-se a evolução do valor da produção, as áreas colhidas e os rendimentos dessas culturas. Para estimar esse índice de resiliência, utiliza-se o método de decomposição em componentes principais da análise fatorial objetivando encontrar os pesos associados aos indicadores empregados na formatação do índice. Os resultados mostraram a grande instabilidade das culturas que, inclusive, supera a instabilidade do regime pluviométrico, isso porque além de essa irregularidade climática, há problemas associados ao atraso tecnológico, que não foi objeto do estudo, e à flutuação dos preços demonstrada na pesquisa.
