A Adesão possui um papel fundamental no controlo dos sintomas e evolução da doença. Todavia, a não adesão aos regimes terapêuticos é uma realidade ainda comum, podendo comprometer o tratamento, mas sobretudo, a vida dos doentes. Concomitantemente, é associado ao incumprimento terapêutico determinadas crenças e do indivíduo, quer em relação ao tratamento quer em relação à sua doença, podendo estas influenciar, de forma directa ou indirecta, no processo de Adesão, causando um impacto significativo na Qualidade de Vida (QDV) do doente. Assim, tendo em conta a possível associação entre estas variáveis, procuraremos avaliar o papel da Adesão Terapêutica na QDV nos indivíduos com DPOC e TB. O presente estudo, contempla uma amostra de conveniência de 35 sujeitos em regime de internamento, com DPOC (N=18) e TB (N=17). A amostra tem idades compreendidas entre os 25 e os 84 anos, sendo a sua média de 54 anos (M= 53,63; DP=15,090). Foi verificado que existe uma correlação inversamente significativa entre as Crenças específicas e a QDV Geral (r=-0,550; p=0,001). Relativamente à Adesão, esta encontra-se positiva e significativamente relacionada com os Domínios Psicológico, Relações Sociais e Ambiente da QDV. Deste modo, constatou-se neste estudo que a variável que melhor prediz a QDV são as Crenças específicas (R2=0,302; p=0,001). The Adherence has a key role in the control of the symptoms and in the progression of the disease. However, the non-adherence to the therapeutic regimes is still a reality and it may jeopardize the treatment, but especially the patients’ lives. At the same time, some individual beliefs are associated to the therapeutic failure, either regarding the treatment or the disease itself. These beliefs may influence, directly or indirectly, the process oh Adherence, causing a significant impact in the Quality of Life (QOL) of the patient. Therefore, taking into account the possible association between these variables, we will try to evaluate the role of the Therapeutic Adherence in the QOL of individuals with COPD and TB. This study contemplates a sample of convenience of 35 inpatients, with COPD (N=18) and TB (N=17). The sample is aged between 25 and 84 years old, being 54 years old its media (M= 53,63; DP=15,090). It was recognized that there is an inversely significant correlation between specific Beliefs and General QOL ( r=-0,550; p=0,001). Regarding the Adherence, this is positively and significantly related to the Psychological, Social Relations and Surroundings Domains of the QOL. Thus, it was found that the variables that best predict the QOL are the Specific Beliefs (R2=0,302; p=0,001).
