Com a presente dissertação pretende apresentar o funcionamento e ações de ordenamento, nomeadamente melhorias de condições de habitat, implementadas pela entidade gestora da Zona de Caça Municipal de Jou e Valongo de Milhais, designada por ZCMJ-V, concelho de Murça. Tratando-se de uma ZCM é estabelecido pela entidade gestora e aprovado pelo organismo da tutela, Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e Florestas, o Plano Anual de Exploração e as condições de acesso dos caçadores que se candidatam a jornadas diárias de caça as espécies constantes no plano. Apresentam-se os resultados, de dez anos de gestão, ao nível das jornadas previstas, realizadas, estimativa de abate e abate efetivo das espécies coelho, lebre, perdiz e javali. Verifica-se que em todas as épocas venatórias o número de jornadas realizadas e peças abatidas ficou aquém do previsto, em alguns anos essa divergência foi mais acentuada devendo-se ao exagerado número de jornadas previstas, falta de abundancia de algumas espécies provocada em alguns anos por surtos epidémicos, como é o caso do coelho-bravo. O elevado número de ZCM também permite aos caçadores, mediante a existência de vagas, experimentarem outras zonas de caça. O número de jornadas de caça disponíveis tem, nos últimos anos, vido a ser ajustadas, devendo estas estar relacionadas com os índices de abundância das populações a realizar antes do início de cada época venatória. Pretende-se que a análise dos primeiros 10 anos de gestão como terreno ordenado permitam verificar e melhorar as ações efetuadas de modo a garantir abundancia das populações cinegéticas e satisfação dos caçadores.

With this thesis aims to present the operation and management actions, including habitat conditions improvements, implemented by the management entity of the Municipal Hunting Zone Jou and Valongo Milhais, called ZCMJ-V, in the municipality of Murça. The Annual Management Plan proposes the hunting limits for each animal species and the conditions of access for hunters and, for these kind of hunting zones is established by the management entity and approved by the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forestry, the entity that has the authority to do so. We present the results of ten years of management with respect to the planned journeys performed, estimated culling and effectively culled species - rabbit, hare, red-legged partridge and wild boar. It appears that in all hunting seasons the number of journeys made and bag records was lower than expected. In some years this difference was most pronounced being due to overstated number of predicted hours, lack of abundance of some species brought in some years by outbreaks, such as the wild rabbit. The availability of other ZCM also allows hunters, by the existence of vacancies, to choose other hunting areas. The number of available hunting trips have been adjusted in recent years and which shall be related to indices of abundance of the stocks to be held before the beginning of each hunting season. It is intended that the analysis of the first 10 years of management as land ordered to check and improve the actions taken to ensure plenty of game populations and satisfaction of hunters.
