Devido à crescente crise que se vive em vários países, nomeadamente em Portugal, e com o crescimento económico de alguns países do continente africano, sabe-se que existe cada vez mais pessoas a emigrar para procurar melhores condições de vida. Um dos problemas mais visíveis em Angola é a falta de cuidados de saúde, dessa feita este estudo procura analisar e compreender o empreendedorismo e a internacionalização nesse país através da construção de uma clínica oftalmológica. Como objetivos específicos o estudo pretende: 1) caracterizar a empresa em estudo, 2) compreender o perfil dos empreendedores envolvidos, 3) conhecer as motivações que conduziram os empreendedores a empreenderem e investirem na empresa em estudo, 4) analisar as razões que conduziram os empreendedores a internacionalizar o seu negócio em Angola e 5) compreender o processo empreender e eventuais constrangimentos envolvidos. A estratégia de pesquisa para o presente estudo é a de estudo de caso. Esta opção prende-se com a necessidade de se compreender o fenómeno como um todo, com um grau de profundidade elevado. As principais conclusões deste estudo de investigação focam-se na validação das proposições formuladas, e que são as seguintes, o perfil dos empreendedores é determinante para a concretização da internacionalização do projeto em estudo; as motivações para empreender e investir em Angola predem-se no fato de este ser um país que atualmente é visto como um país de oportunidades; as diferentes fases do processo empreendedor apresentam dificuldades e facilidades específicas do mercado Angolano; e as motivações inerentes à internacionalização da empresa em estudo são predominantemente de ordem económica.
Abstract: Due to the growth of the current crisis in several countries, namely in Portugal, and with the growing in some areas of Africa if exist an increase of flux of migration, involving people that search for better conditions of life. Particularly in Angola one of the most visible issues, is the lack of health care. This study pretends to understand the impact of the entrepreneurship and internationalization in this country through the creation of an ophthalmologic clinic. Specifically the study has the following specific objectives: 1) characterize the company in study; 2) understand the entrepreneurs profile; 3) analyze the motivations that lead the entrepreneurs to invest in current study; 4) analyze the reasons that lead the entrepreneurs to internationalize their business; 5) understand the entrepreneur process and constrains involved. So the purpose is compromised, the empirical part uses the single case study methodology to study the clinic. According with Yin (2001) in the single case study the researcher may have been observe an opportunity that wasn’t seen before. The main conclusions of this investigation are focused on the validation of four propositions formulated previously, and are the following: first the profile of entrepreneurs is crucial to achieve the internationalization of the project under study; the motivations to undertaking and invest in Angola are related in the fact of this being a country that actually is seen by a country full of opportunities; the different phases of the entrepreneur process feature specific difficulties and facilities in the Angolan market; and the motivations inherent in the company’s internationalization in study are manly economic.
