Description
This work follows on a master's degree in special educational needs (SEN), topic of communication and language, occurred in the Institute of Education and Sciences. The research focuses the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs), particularly the software Geogebra, applied to children and young people with SEN. The interest in this subject was arrested with the importance of teaching mathematics and the interest of the using of ICT in the educational process of students with SEN. The methodology used in this research was based on specialized literature review as well as a qualitative methodology for a field research using Geogebra related to statistics, building a case study with children with special educational needs. This work was based on an experiment done with a class including two students with special educational needs trying to discover whether the use of Geogebra improved the teaching of statistics on children with SEN. After this research, we observed the increasing performance of the whole class, and, particularly, the improvement of students with SEN, after a teaching situation of this kind.
