Dissertação apresentada para cumprimento dos requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Segurança e Higiene no Trabalho

A presente dissertação apresenta um estudo empírico, no âmbito do Mestrado em Segurança e Higiene no Trabalho, ministrado na Escola Superior de Ciências Empresariais de Setúbal, em parceria com a Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Setúbal. Os edifícios e os estabelecimentos devem, no decurso da exploração dos respetivos espaços, ser dotados de medidas de organização e gestão da segurança, designadas por medidas de autoproteção. Em qualquer organização é importante que todos saibam agir numa situação de emergência, pelo que torna-se fundamental informar, divulgar e praticar as medidas de autoproteção exigíveis para o edifício que ocupam. Na generalidade é necessário promover a formação das pessoas, como forma de as sensibilizar para as questões relacionadas com a segurança em situações de emergência. Deste modo, o estudo apresentado tem como objetivo geral determinar a importância que os Estudantes de uma instituição de ensino superior, enquanto ocupantes de uma UT-Tipo Escolar têm no sucesso da atuação em caso de emergência. Para o efeito, pretende-se avaliar o que os Estudantes conhecem sobre o edifício/instalações e da segurança em caso de emergência implementada na UT que ocupam, assim como determinar a experiência e formação que os Estudantes apresentam na área de segurança e emergência. Por último, pretende-se identificar as entidades com responsabilidades na segurança em caso de emergência e na formação/sensibilização nessa área, bem como quais os meios que os Estudantes consideram os mais indicados para informar/divulgar e melhorar a capacidade de resposta numa situação de emergência na sua escola. Por forma a alcançar objetivos propostos optou-se por uma investigação aplicada, através de um estudo transversal e uma abordagem que privilegia a pesquisa quantitativa, com recurso ao inquérito por questionário. No final serão analisados os dados obtidos e apresentadas as conclusões do estudo, onde poderemos constatar a importância da formação dos Estudantes na área de segurança em situação de emergência, para o sucesso da atuação em caso de emergência na UT que ocupam.

This dissertation presents an empirical study, in the framework of the Masters in Safety and Hygiene at Work, taught in the Higher School of Business Sciences, in partnership with the Higher School of technology of Setúbal The buildings and establishments shall, in the course of the exploration of the respective spaces, be provided with measures of organisation and management of safety, known as self-protection measures. In any organization it is important that everyone know to act in an emergency situation, so it is important to inform, promote and practice self-protection measures required for the building they occupy. In general it is necessary to promote the training of people as a way to raise awareness of issues related to safety in emergency situations. In this way, the study aims to determine the general importance that students of an institution of higher education, while occupants of a UT-School Type have on the success of operations in the event of an emergency. To this end, it is intended to assess what students know about the building/installations and safety in case of emergency implemented in UT occupying, as well as determine the experience and training that students present in the area of safety and emergency. Finally, we intend to identify entities with responsibility for safety in case of emergency and in awareness/training in this area, as well as what means that students consider the most suitable for inform/disclose and improve the capacity to respond in an emergency situation at your school. In order to achieve goals we opted for an applied research through a cross-sectional study and an approach that focuses on quantitative research using the survey. At the end the data will be analyzed and presented the conclusions of the study, where we can see the importance of the training of Students in the area of safety in emergency situation, to the success of operations in case of emergency in UT occupying.
