O urbanismo do Movimento Moderno em Bragança : o contributo de Viana de Lima

Description

A arquitectura era alegadamente rural na cidade de Bragança até meados do século XX. Desde então, apareceram autores/arquitectos que seguiram os postulados teóricos da "Carta de Atenas" (CIAM, 1933), nomeadamente Viana de Lima, o qual executa um Plano de Urbanização e projectos relativos a edifícios, utilizando os princípios e linhas orientadoras do Movimento Moderno. Esta investigação tem como objectivo uma abordagem à organização urbana seguindo os princípios da "Carta de Atenas" (CIAM 1933), evidenciando, assim, os resultados que originaram as linhas fundadoras do Urbanismo Moderno e as suas configurações. Os métodos de investigação centram-se numa análise de elementos da morfologia urbana, remetendo a investigação para o estudo de caso do Urbanismo do Movimento Moderno em Bragança. Trata-se de uma investigação do género descritiva com base nos métodos de análise qualitativa. A dissertação é composta por seis partes. A problemática desenvolve-se através de fundamentos, definições e objectivos, abordando o tipo metodologia de investigação esclarecendo o método de trabalho no cap.1. A recolha de informação efectua-se do geral para o particular. A fundamentação teórica é desenvolvida nos Cap.2, Cap.3 e Cap.4, onde se realiza a revisão da literatura e das publicações de referência. A sistematização, cap.5, desenvolve-se a partir de dados essenciais para a significação de reflexões e a definição de conclusões finais no Cap.6. A investigação contribui para a análise e interpretação da organização, sobre os pressupostos ideológicos do Movimento Moderno, particularmente na sua capacidade de resposta ao contexto do urbanismo da cidade de Bragança.

Abstract: Architecture was allegedly rural in the city of Bragança until mid-twentieth century . Since then, individuals appeared claiming the theoretical postulates of the "Charter of Athens " (CIAM , 1933), namely Viana de Lima (Architect) , who ran an Urban Plan and building related projects based on the principies and guidelines of the Modern Movement. This research's goal is to approach the urban organization based on the principles of the "Athens Charter" (CIAM 1933), thus highlighting the results that led to the founding guidelines of Modem Urban Planning and its settings. The research methods focus on an analysis of urban morphology elements, referring the investigation to the case study of Modern Movement Urban Planning in Bragança. This is a descriptive type investigation , based on qualitative analysis methods . The dissertation consists of six parts. The problematic develops through fundamentals , definitions and objectives, approaching the research methodology type , clarifying the working method in Ch.1. The data collection is made from general to particular . The theoretical framework is developed in Ch.2, Ch.3 and Ch.4, where literature and reference publications' review takes place. The systematization Ch.5, develops through the correlation providing the vital information for the significance of reflections and the defining of final conclusions in Ch. 6. The research contributes to the analysis and interpretation of the organization , over the ideological assumptions of the Modem Movement , particularly in its ability to respond to the urban context of Bragança.
