O objetivo deste estudo é fazer uma análise do local onde vai ser o futuro Terminal de Contentores do Barreiro, assim como a cidade do Barreiro e imediações, para uma análise das necessidades de uma revitalização da zona industrial como todo o tecido urbano. Será igualmente verificada a sustentabilidade, ou não, das soluções preconizadas e apresentadas estratégias alternativas com vista a uma maior sustentabilidade do projeto, para a viabilidade de uma reabilitação sustentável do mesmo. São apresentados exemplos de outras cidades portuárias que se adequaram ao crescimento da atividade comercial nos seus portos como o desenvolvimento urbanístico. É feito um inventário e o levantamento das patologias representativas das infraestruturas, com a identificação da sua origem e contribuição para a degradação do edificado. É do conhecimento que esta análise com critérios de sustentabilidade não se encontra a ser desenvolvida, considerando-se fundamental esta nova abordagem de projetos estruturantes para a cidade e região, em especial tendo em conta a Resolução do Conselho de Ministros n.º 61/2015 – Cidades Sustentáveis 2020. O crescimento económico de Portugal é uma necessidade imposta pelo poder político Nacional, bem como pela Comunidade Europeia, o que apresenta grandes desafios fase à crise económica que o país atravessa. Todos os projetos públicos têm de ser bem analisados e estudados para que sejam um investimento sustentável e que possam trazer desenvolvimento. Sendo um dos fatores de crescimento económico as exportações, o Terminal de Contentores do Barreiro será um projeto que ajudará com mais um importante terminal e como mais-valia na margem sul do rio Tejo, libertando a zona ribeirinha de Lisboa para outras atividades como o turismo.
The aim of this study is to know where the future of Barreiro Container Terminal (BCT) will be, as well as the city of Barreiro and its surroundings, for an analysis of the needs of a revitalization of the industrial zone as a whole urban fabric. It will also analyse the different aspects of the sustainability both in the current situation, as the intervention proposal that currently exists. Sustainability will also be checked, or not, of this solution and presented alternative strategies with a view to greater sustainability of the project, thus there is the feasibility of a sustainable rehabilitation of it. There are examples of other port cities that have adapted to the growth of commercial activity in its ports such as urban development. An inventory and survey of the pathologies representative of the infrastructures are carried out, with the identification of their origin and contribution to the degradation of the building. It is known that this analysis with sustainability criteria is not being developed, considering fundamental this new approach to structuring projects for the city and the region, in particular with regard to the resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 61/2015 - Sustainable Cities 2020. Economic growth in Portugal is a necessity imposed by the national political power as well as the European Community, which is a particularly challenging phase of the economic crisis that Portugal is facing. All Public projects should be well analysed and studied to be a sustainable investment and that can bring development. Being one of the economic growth factors the exports, the BCT will be a project that will help with another major terminal and that will add value to the south bank, freeing the riverside area of Lisbon to other activities such as tourism.
